What does it mean to compete at the World Championships in F3-D? On the surface it looks like a rush to go as fast as they do, if you have ever seen one, and it is. How you get to that point is an unbelievable amount of hard work, time away from family and cubic dollars. As Fred Burgdorf once said "Pylon Racing is not for the homeless". How true this is. The cycle starts with curiosity and the desire to go fast. The learning curve to do this takes an incredible effort. Learning the motor technology and how pipes work, using fuel without nitro, and which plane to buy. Every even year the team trials are held under strict rules governed by the FAI and sponsored by our own AMA. If you do not make the team it will be 2 years before the next Trials. If you are fortunate enough to make the team you have earned the privilege to represent the USA the following year. So with one competition per year alternating from Trials to WC you can see the pressure never lets up. This past October 9 dedicated pylon racers tried out for the Team. The Top 3, Randy Bridge, Gino Del Ponte, Gary Freeman Jr., and Ray Brown as the alternate.
We should all be proud to be represented by this talented and dedicated group.
This privilege comes with a high cost and we are asking for support from all of you. Visit the rest of this web site to learn more about this very strong team.
If you would like the opportunity to help out as a business we have set up the following sponsorship program that benefits both the pilots and your business.
A $200-$499 donation gets you a Team hat or Shirt along with a banner on our site with a link to your web page.
A $500 or more donation get the same as above, but we also add your company name to our official team shirts and a banner we will set-up at the World Championships all great advertisement for your company!!!
Sincerely,
Tom Scott
